I'd like to make the following submission to Win This Years,
Tin Foil Hat Wild and Wacky Conspiracy Award
(political category)Premise.
What If the Tories tried their hardest to lose the last election? ON PURPOSE!
Point 1,
WHY?
The winners of the last election will make themselves un-electable for a LOoooong time because whoever wins will have to negotiate Brexit, and NO party can possibly EVER get a good| Brexit deal!
It simply cannot be done!
The Tories knowing this, tried their hardest to lose the last election so the Labour party would get blamed for a bad Brexit.
This would make Labour unelectable, therefore ensuring Tory power in the long term.
Point 2,
WHY THERE CAN BE NO GOOD BREXIT DEAL!
(the gang effect).
Bare with me this makes a good point eventually...
Imagine you are a top ranking thug in a gang!
(you may choose LA street or London Firm for your imagination to use, whichever you find easier.)
You are in fact the fifth hardest, the strongest member of that gang!
But for some reason, you decide you want out.
You feel your safe because you are the fifth biggest meanest gang member.
BUT there are 4 members bigger than you plus you are outnumbered by all the other gang members! The gang (like all groups, of any sort) is only as strong as its membership. If enough gang members leave then the gang dissolves!
The leaders need to make sure other members don’t get any silly ideas about leaving as well, so their ONLY tactical option is to make an example out of you!
To scare the rest of the gang into line!
So what will happen is, (even though you’re the fifth biggest member)
That the police will find your skinned tortured corpse displayed in a kids playground as both very public warning to other members and to show their strength to the rest of the city!
Being the fifth biggest gangster will not be enough to defend you from the combined might of the other four stronger members plus all their other foot soldiers! (Even if your part in this gang movie is played by The Rock or Jason Statham! <though obviously Chuck Norris could do it!> )
We may be the fifth strongest economy, but tactically the EU will have no other option (if it wants to survive) than to make a frightening example of us, to the rest of the world!
We are not just going to get simply a bad deal, We are gonna get economically skinned and displayed!
Point 3,
WHY NOT STAY?
The people have spoken and integrity of our democracy must be respected and defended, The is NO stay option! Trying this will make the Political party responsible just as unelectable as the bad Brexit deal. (It might even be an illegal act that leads to prosecution?) They are Dammed to political hell either way!
Point 4
Supporting evidence of Tory Self Sabotage!
First call the election at the last as quickly as possible before your suck with the poison chalice of Bexit negotiations.
One of the biggest voter sector supporting Tory rule are both Homeowners and the Elderly.
How do you want to stop them voting for you? One Word “Dementia Tax”!
Then try getting your MP’s to say really stupid clumsy things about the opposition that are clearly Lies.
And if all else fails, then, as leader of the Tories just simply stop campaigning, appearing in public or basically trying to do anything constructive to win, in any shape or form.
IF you still win despite all that, then try and make an illegal agreement to supposedly ‘stay in power’ hoping desperately that someone will stop you!
Conclusion
Let me make myself clear,
WHY NOT STAY?
