Is there any logical reason to be scared of such a place?

Science as a default state says a definitive
“NO!”

I am on the fence on this one!
Despite being VERY pro-science!

I certainly think most séances are total bullcrap!

Yet I am far too scared to stay in a Haunted House!
(At least knowingly!)

Maybe there are not dead people back from the grave.

But I say
“That does not discount other fundamental forces that our science has not quantified yet.”

200 years ago (or far less) we did not understand radiation either!

That was not discovered until March the 1st 1896 by French physicist Henri Becquerel

Science is an "uncooked turkey"!

It ain't done yet!

I was saying this to a friend of mine Peter Fenwick,
(He does some sort of Engineering Science type thing as a job.)

“What fundamental forces?"

"I agree that through science we discover more all the time but that doesn't give us free license to make stuff up and then claim it could be true."

"There is no evidence whatsoever to support the existence of ghosts."

"Any evidence that has ever been presented has been thoroughly debunked."

"There will be things that science uncovers in the future that we are unaware of now, but it is incredibly unlikely to be anything like ghosts.”

As I said,
NOT GHOST!

I agree not ghost!

(Although I would like to know if any measurements have been made of localised naturally occurring magnetic fields, )
( And )
( If so are they strong enough to induce hallucinations, murderous insanity or brain tumours over an extended period of exposure!)

(Even though it would not be "Ghost" it does not make the victims any less damaged or less dead from such exposure!)

Well, it might not be any of those either!

That does not mean NOTHING is there!

That does not mean there is not something there that we cannot measure yet!

Something that is still harmful or even deadly to the occupants!

Let us take for example a primitive Medieval Village five hundred years ago, that claims that a local pond is cursed, haunted or full of evil spirits.

Such a medieval village might say

"Don't drink for that pond it has evil spirits",
.
.
A few hundred years now pass and now an 1850’s science team may say
.
"We have debunked that there is anything wrong with this pond, the viral load is very low and there are no chemical contaminants,"
"The water is most definitely fine to filter and drink"
.
.
But largely due to traditions and silly superstitions the local villages STILL refuse to go near the forbidden, cursed, Haunted or evil pond!

Experts will facepalm and laugh at the very silly people of that now 1850’s village.

A few more years now pass.
March the 1st 1896 comes and then goes…
.
.
The villages are staunchly determined that they know better than any of the experts!
Despite all national ridicule!

A few more hundred years now pass…
.
.
This time a 1970's team do some test to find out why there is still some suffering in the area.
.
Because the thick idiot locals are still blaming the pond!
.
.
And THEN that 1970's team screams!
.
"Shit!"
.
"This water is highly radioactive!"
.
.
I am not saying Ghost!
.
(Remember, I am pro-science as well!)

But is there enough anecdotal evidence to make me avoid the place?

Although mere anecdotal evidence is always of near to no value at all.

Neither is a penny on its own!
.
But Anecdotal Evidence is still a form of evidence!
(However low grade!)

20,000 Metaphorical “Anecdotal Pennies” that equate £200 in total still beats a single £20 note Metaphore of
"We can find anything to measure with our equipment"!
“So there is nothing there!”
“It is just your stupid uneducated imagination!”

It may not be radiation or a magnetic field but it STILL might be something else we can not measure yet!
