The God-fearing Christian
Compared to
The God-loving Christian.
.
.
As a Christian (Yeh one of those, get used to it)
.
I have always hated the term "God Fearing", instead of "God Loving".
.
- The "God Fearing" lot are usually what I call "Pseudo Christians",
They tend to be homophobic, narrow-minded bigots that condemn all other faiths.
They hold tightly to “traditional values",
(“Traditional values” is code for “misogyny” and people “knowing and accepting their rightful place in the proper social order”)
They rarely, if ever, actually read a bible or any version, (Yes, there are conflicting versions!)
IF they do read it, they happily misquote their own chosen version with righteous filled abandon, often ignoring the true context of a single line.
Which is often quite different from the context they infer when you read the two lines before and after their chosen single line quote.
When they scream “You are going to Hell!” what they are actually saying is “I want you to go to hell and suffer because I lack the personal power to make you suffer! And I want you to suffer because I am a nasty angry person!”
They also have a weird obsession with depicting Jesus as blonde-haired and blue-eyed.
.
While "God Loving" Christians are more about inclusion and acceptance.
They realise that the word GOD is like the word water.
There is more than one word for water in several different languages, but it is all the same H2O.
They also have the common sense to realise that God is very unlikely to give two shits where you put your junk for a happy time.
And is far more likely to care about you letting children starve to death in a world of fat housewives and killing people for a rag on a stick on a planet, we never really own any of.
.
(As a very general rule but not always.)
.
Ruling by fear and inflicting terror is the sort of thing some sort of Demon or Devil would do.
Not the sort of thing any real holy deity of faith would do.
So, I guess I am saying that maybe Pseudo God Fearing Christians may indeed be in touch with a greater larger power, just not the godly holy one that they think they are praying to!
.
To me, that seems like simple common sense.
