Quite honestly, if to a contemporary audience he did not have such an interesting name and lived so long ago,
If instead he was called something like Fred Micky and this philosophy was spewed in a 1960s desert mid-west USA dinner instead.
Then no one would take this “philosophy” seriously.

But living so long ago with such a (to modern ears) weird name gives him an unjustified cache and “coolness” that deeply satisfies year 101 philosophy students when they quote him in the late-night coffee bar as a third-rate pseudo-intellectual chat-up line to try and hook up!

Because despite being totally self-delusional, in many ways Crowley was at least a bit more honest with both the world and himself than Nietzsche ever was!
