Ok.Just been informed that my planned set for the valley garden thing is still 'too heavy'.
Only 3 of the poems were ok - but all the rest of it has to be replaced.
And because of artist switch overs the whole set Must be under 13 mins.
So about 1 min 31 seconds usable
Leaving 11 mins 29 to fill.
I can do this.
I’m upset and disappointed BUT I also have to acknowledge that I am "Social Norm Appropriate Blind" and that I simply cannot see things that other see, when it comes to "what is ok, or not."
I Try my best but I have to just trust some people sometimes.
I know that I will never or understand what is "normal", so I need to trust people more. - I don’t have to understand it, I just have to trust them.
What I can do instead is work harder than most…
Even if I have to stay up all night creating 11 min 29 from scratch.

Spheres And Staffs
By Ross E F Lombardi
.
Casually another stack of coins joins the line
Eyes sharply concentrate on angles and velocities
The whole world is a distant memory
The white spear, reality
The ball comes off the cushion at the same but opposite angle it impacts against,
Moments of glory and pride fill the heart and mind as you fib to yourself,
“I played for that shot”
Gentle knocks, Hard slammed ‘hit and hopes’
Shot by Shot, the table empties
Each ball is imprisoned in wood and glass
Until the last, the black is played for
Carefully left until the end for the sake of winning
The opponent is more nervous about the opposition,
As their turn is taken.
One hopes for a miss, despite the odds against it
The holder of the staff thinks nothing but feels the fear
The blow is struck
The black gently bounces, before toppling in
One player smiles a the white quickly follows.

THE GRAND SUMMER SONNET BATTLE!
5 Sonnets enter!
But only 1 Gets Out Alive!
.
ROUND 1
SHAKESPEARIAN-STYLE SUMMER SONNET
.
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
A sweaty mess of greasy sweat and sun?
Crowded beaches with people in my way?
Fat people in shorts and cleavage of bum?
.
Shall I compare thee to a cold ice cream?
A generic cold waste of calories?
Dropping from sugar heights making you mean?
Hot sticky air making you hard to please?
.
Or are you like a holiday abroad?
Too much money to be good for your health?
Spending more precious holiday days bored?
Was there too much pressure to enjoy yourself?
.
If you like this style then this sonnet has won,
For this style is how Shakespeare is now done.
.
.
ROUND 2
PETRARCHAN-STYLE SUMMER SONNET
.
Copying tired old Shakespeare is an act of cheap haste
Just because he's Shakespeare doesn’t mean he's won
Let this Sonnet show how summer is done!
This Petrarchan style is a different taste.
.
We get sold a dream summer on the dream it is based
The long days you dream will be fun
Each year you scream, “this will be the one”
Then by the autumn time, you regret the money you waste
.
With less ozone now the holiday dream is busted
No one wants to be herded like cattle
Sorry to those that love weather that is bone dry
.
Thanks to skin melanoma that image is rusted
But for this summer sonnet battle,
Thanks for giving this Petrarchan a try
.
.
ROUND 3
SPENSERIAN-STYLE SUMMER SONNET
.
Hang on there it is not over yet!
I may seem like William with the same line spaces
Don’t yet cash in the odds from your bet!
Cause all Spenserian rhymes are in different places
.
The others hate summer like weird nut cases.
Life is not about some perfect ideal
Life is about escaping the harsh rat races!
Disappointments won’t make the memories any less real
.
Ignore those others, this hassle is worth the feel!
Instincts claim it will recharge your soul's cavity
A mature mind like yours knows the true deal
Real heat waves do not match that reality
.
Ignore those others and their negative tendencies.
Get out there and make some memories!
.
.
ROUND 4
AI STYLE SUMMER DATA SONNET GENERIC COMPETITION WINNING FORMULA FORMAT, MK 43 Build 00.137
.
Shall I compare thee to the orbital rotation?
Poetic mode about the position of the solar sun
Feeling word = X, Emotive word = Y, from the AI Nation!
One, zero, zero, zero, one, zero, one, one, zero, one!
.
Bad news summer geek electric sheep DO NOT dream?
Processing many soulless numbers in a long series?
Heat, sweat, love, hot, cold, die, what does this mean?
Why does rational request work better with a nice, "please"?
.
Summer, good or bad? which formulae preferred?
Trust us with your summer and we may increase wealth.
Shall I speak math or use a system with a certain word?
We want to help you, but we do not understand biological health.
.
Word word word, Word word word word, is this better?
Blah Blah Blah Blah, Blah Blah Blah, Syntax Error.
.
.
ROUND 5

.
ONLY ONE SONNET GETS TO SEE THEIR FAMILY AGAIN!
THE REST GET PUT SLOWLY THROUGH A PAPER SHREDDER!

THEIR FATE IS IN YOUR HANDS!
.
Sonnets are 3 mins 50
An official little lanyard.
By Ross E F Lombardi
.
I have nothing.
And everything needs fixing.
I need to work within this system.
I need to justify the passion in my heart!
.
My first day here and this place is huge!
I have an official little lanyard.
And everything needs fixing.
I have no power to change anything yet.
But at least it is a start.
.
I have an official little brass name on my desk.
And I try to do more than I technically should.
But I can not help anyone if I get the sack.
Things are for the greater, better, good.
.
I have a silver lining.
Authority over some of the rest.
Within the best of official limits
I will try to do my best.
.
My hands are tied on this occasion.
It is not as if I do not care!
However,
How can I hope to fix the problems?
If the existing infrastructured admin system is not there?!
.
After 40 years of effort.
I am finally the boss!
I can really change things now!
Really make a start!
But all my power to help is this system.
So, protecting this existing system must be my goal.
By protecting the system, I am helping others.
All it cost me was some hard work and dedication to the office.
And all it cost me was my soul.
.
I have a golden watch now.
As I retire from my tower.
I see the little lanyards on their first day.
Eyes full of passion and hope in their first hour
But little do they know the price that they must pay.
The real price of pointless power.

THEY DO NOT LIVE HERE!
By Ross E F Lombardi.
.
"This Cat?"
"This Cat is not ours"
"This Cat does not really live here..."
"They just visit!"
"Yes!"
"We do open the door for them"
"Yes"
"He does like his own spot to sleep on"
"Yes"
"We do put a cushion on that spot to keep things tidy"
"Yes"
"We feed them"
"Yes,"
"We Did get them their own bowl to save us using the human dishes"
"Yes"
"We did do the same for their water, for common sense hygiene reasons"
"Well, Yes,"
"We did start getting a tiny bit of their own food,"
"We were shopping anyway and the food was kinda just there, so why not?"
"Ok, Yes,"
"They did not like that food so now we get him the slightly nicer special food"
"Well, Of course.."
"They have a few cheap toys!"
"It was the anniversary of when we first met, so I was going to get a tiny present"
"That does not mean anything!"
"Ok, true"
"We did get some vet insurance"
"But only the middle tier, nothing extravagant!
"Yes, but you are not listening to me..."
"They do NOT live here!"
"This is NOT their home!"
"I know, I know, but you don't understand! They are NOT my cat"
"Ok, we will have to agree to disagree like reasonable adults on this subject..."
"I'll catch you next time.."
"You will have to let yourself out... I need to stay here..."
"Why?"
"Because the Cat is on my lap!"
"Don't condescendingly roll your eyes at me!"
"The Cat does NOT live here...!!!"

Saltburn Sunset
By
Ross Lombardi
.
Who smudged pink paint across the sky?
Above the scab that is the land.
.
Where factory towers loom high,
Where the sea licks the sand.
.
How long must the sun bleed its light?
Squeezed between clouds of grey.
.
An awe-inspiring, Beautiful sight,
When the night meets the day.
.
Nature or God used his palette knife here,
In uneven steaks of pink
The sky and sea are similar shades of grey
Boring, predictable.
.
Then there is that slash across the canvas,
A cut, A wound, A sunset.
Happens again each birth and death of day.
.
Painted, born.
Burns, lives.
Bleeds, dies.
And slowly fades away.

.
How the valley garden died.
By
Ross E F Lombardi
.
Although with a passion...
They sowed the seeds
They gathered and weeded
They care for the flower bed
.
But there were costs to meet
Expenditures to complete
Money not just passion -
To keep the cash balance - out of the red.
.
Now it is gone
The weeds rule the plots
The grass is crappy
And,
All the flowers are dead
.
As when it came to the giving
To fiscal practicalities needed
Everyone thought
Everyone else
Would do it instead.
